2nd Annual Play Ball for Miracles

On September 23rd eleven teams showed up to play in the 2nd Annual Play Ball for Miracles Tournament at Rahway River Park.
On September 23rd eleven teams showed up to play in the 2nd Annual Play Ball for Miracles Tournament at Rahway River Park. A wonderful event that gets local softball teams to participate in a double elimination tournament for charity.

5. Caldwell Dental Associates
6. All United Fence
7. Big Daddy
8. JD Fleming/Summit Fire
9. Scotch Plains Police Department
10. Elizabeth Cuban Club
11. Edison Elks
One very special family who has been helped by Children's hospitals was also in attendance to show support and remind us all why these charity events are so important.
Following the opening ceremony (4) games began on multiple fields. However, by the 2nd inning rain soaked the fields and the tournament was cancelled for the day.
The rescheduling took place on Saturday, September 30th at Warinanco Park. With a smaller group of participating teams the tournament was changed from a double elimination to a Round Robin Tournament so that all teams could play each other.
Not only was there great softball, but there was food and raffles as well. The final 2006 Champion was BUFFY'S TAVERN. 2nd place wend to CALDWELLL DENTAL and ALL UNITED FENCE (2005 Champions) came in 3rd.
More information regarding the 2007 Play Ball for Miracles Tournament will be available in the coming months.
