At American Gymnastics Academy in South Plainfield, Saturday was filled with many happy memories for those children who participated.
At American Gymnastics Academy in South Plainfield, Saturday was filled with many happy memories for those children who participated. This day was dedicated to promoting good health and an active lifestyle for children. While they were having fun they were also supporting Children’s Miracle Network.
The day kicked off with a Cartwheel-A-Thon. Participants were asked to get pledges for each cartwheel they did. Most children performed over 100 cartwheels in a row. Some of the children were so dizzy they were spinning in circles, but they were determined to keep going to raise funds for Children’s Specialized Hospital and The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
The gym opened at 10:00AM and the children never stopped until 2:00PM. From toddlers to teenagers, everyone was involved. Smiles permeated the room throughout the day as the children enjoyed hands-on tumbling, gymnastics and fitness, a bounce house, a car wash, live music, a pie throwing booth, and plenty of food.
In spite of all this excitement the families didn’t lose site of what the day was about. It wasn’t hard for parents to be thankful for their children’s good health while understanding the plight of a family with a hospitalized child. Children’s Miracle Network was pleased to be the recipient of all the hard work and effort that went into making this day so successful.
